VCF Migration Services (VMware HCX)

We run VMware HCX migrations from legacy vSphere estates into VMware Cloud Foundation - from site pairing and network extension through to wave planning, cutover and decommissioning of the old platform.

Our migration service

• Discovery & dependency mapping - application groupings, bandwidth and change freeze constraints.
• HCX deployment - appliance sizing, site pairing, service mesh and network extension.
• Migration type selection - Bulk, vMotion, Cold and Replication Assisted vMotion (RAV) per workload profile.
• Wave planning with pre-migration checklists, test plans and rollback per wave.
• Cutover - MON/gateway migration, DNS and routing changes, validation sign-off.
• Problem remediation - failed transfers, service mesh tunnel issues, MTU and uplink faults.
• Decommission of the legacy estate and handover documentation.

Why HCX

HCX lets you extend existing Layer 2 networks into VCF, so VMs keep their IP addresses and applications move in waves rather than in one high-risk weekend. Combined with RAV, large or sensitive workloads can migrate live with minimal switchover time.
