What are VMware Cloud Director services?
For most VMware Cloud Service Providers, VMware Cloud Director (VCD) is not a component of the platform - it is the platform.

VCD Design & Deployment
A Cloud Director estate is a commercial construct as much as a technical one. We design the provider virtual data centre model, organisation VDC patterns, IP Spaces, Edge Gateway topology, storage policies, catalogues and the RBAC model so that tenant onboarding is repeatable and metering is correct from day one.
VCD Upgrade
Cloud Director 10.6.2 is explicitly a migration release - a hardened baseline with security fixes and interoperability validation, whose end of life is tied to that of VCF 9.1. We plan and run the upgrade to that baseline as its own piece of work, because it is a prerequisite regardless of which onward route you choose.
VCD Migration to VCF Automation
VCF Automation supersedes both Aria Automation and Cloud Director, and VCF Automation 9.1 adds a Migration Tool for moving from Cloud Director in place. We run the Environment Assessment stage, map Cloud Director constructs onto Projects, Namespaces, VPCs, External IP Blocks and storage classes, choose between in-place and side-by-side, and pace the programme around tenant availability rather than engineering capacity.

VCD API Integration
VMware Cloud Director exposes a rich REST API that underpins repeatable tenant operations, catalogue publishing, vApp and VM orchestration, and usage metering. We design and build integrations that connect VCD to billing platforms, service desks, monitoring tools and customer self-service portals, using idempotent automation, proper credential handling and documented endpoints so the integration keeps working across VCD upgrades.
